5 Gold Rings...nope just one on my finger..we could read Lord of the Rings again... but no that was the Summer's read and as now it's December we've just started J.R.R.Tolkien's "Letters from Father Christmas" a fun read that has become a tradition for us.
It's warmed up from the frigid temperatures....which should be yippee...but....we got freezing rain instead..darn it.
Schools are shut but teachers still have to go in ..so after some major ice chipping off the car my other half set off (and I'm keeping my fingers crossed that he made it unscathed..yes he just phoned Good).
Disgusting colds continue unabated so it's mugs of tea and Jim Dale reading Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkhban on my ipod while I'm trundling around rather grumpily doing necessary chores. The girls are working on the Christmas project of furnishing the Dolls house and listening to Cabin Pressure.

We bought a dolls house kit in a sale last year and now we are finally getting round to working on it!
The Museum displays a dolls house each Christmas that contains several hidden White mice ..I think ours will contain hidden Ginger Cats. If it's still in one piece that is.... Colds are not making my off spring more Lovable or co-operative (Is alcohol in my Tea permissible at 10 in the morning?) Perhaps we'll all just listen to more Cabin Pressure and break out the emergency Chocolate.....

Hello there! Hope to see pics of the doll house when finished. Daughters of a friend make some amazing miniatures out of clay for their doll house. I should take pictures and show you. Have you guys ever seen Tasha Tudor's doll house? Hope you're feeling better. Alcohol in the tea--I won't tell. If it helps, why not? It's medicinal.
ReplyDeleteHi Jodi! I'll have to take some snaps, I'll also have to look up Tasha Tudor's house as that's new to me :0) So far Oldest d has modeled several cats but it sounds like there is lots of potential for clay modelling with this project :0)
DeleteAlcohol in your morning cuppa? Why, of course it's permitted! (Seems I've developed a hot chocolate with a slug of Baileys habit.) I'd forgotten about that Tolkien book. There's a copy on the shelves here somewhere so must locate it.
ReplyDeleteWe've just one letter left to read ..they are very enjoyable read-aloud's and the pictures are lovely in a Hobbitish sort of way :0)
DeleteI now have visions of myself rolling happily from chore to chore in the morning ..but some how I don't think you meant to endorse a quick snifter with the morning coffee at 6am :0)
