Pancake day
image (which I love) is from
here
Gosh this year is going fast...it's Pancake day already.
I found a lovely site HERE that explains Pancake Day / Shrove Tuesday as it's celebrated in the UK and in other parts of the world HERE Which nicely enlightened youngest daughter on Mardi Gras which had been puzzling her (and me too I must confess):o)
So we made pancakes for breakfast and the girls both took turns tossing and catching them in the pan...which was fun and they were surprisingly good at it! The collie likes them too but was rationed much to his disgust and No one dropped one in spite of him eyeing us hopefully.
Recipe.
We used
two eggs,
1 and 1/3 cups of flour (sifted),
2 cups of milk
and 2 tablespoons of oil
all lightly beaten together
then cooked in a lightly greased pan over a moderate heat,
flipped when the first side was set,
then flipped again for fun and served with sugar (and a squirt of lemon)
Very Yummy

Snow...snow and lots of it!
Ok This Winter we have had snow and I do mean snow....lovely white deep stuff...but deep and hard on the moose and other wildlife and deep on the roof which is a little perturbing.
Snow snaps... the back gate
A view down the road
and up the road
The back gate
On top of the garden fence
The roof ....a bit deep
the back fence...

My Blog List... Chatty
My Blog List interesting
from an old gravestone
If you hold your nose to the Grindstone
and you leave it there long enough,
Then soon you'll say
there's no such things
as brooks that babble
and birds that sing,
these three will all your world compose,
just you, the stone and your poor old nose.
(from memory so may not be word perfect)
