Keeping Christmas

Keeping Christmas

How will you your Christmas keep?
Feasting, fasting or asleep?
Will you laugh or will you pray,
Or will you forget the day?

Be it kept with joy or pray'r
Keep of either some to spare;
Whatsoever brings the day,
Do not keep but give away.

  1. I used to love Eleanor Farjeon poems when I was a child. So easy to understand.

Hope your recovery is progressing well.

  4. Sweet picture and poem. There are times when I wish I could hook our four legged friend up to a cart, but I'm pretty sure it would end in tears.

Hope you are able to get around. Where are the photos of your decorated sticks? The world needs to know if you went for pom-poms or tinsel!

from an old gravestone

If you hold your nose to the Grindstone
and you leave it there long enough,
Then soon you'll say
there's no such things
as brooks that babble
and birds that sing,
these three will all your world compose,
just you, the stone and your poor old nose.

(from memory so may not be word perfect)
