but it was on top of the ice and after a lovely Thanksgiving meal we drove home from Hillside and the truck wanted to be a Sled so had to be emergency parked in a nice fat snow bank ...exciting..... but fine outcome.
So I set off for a shovel and turned to chat to a nice guy who fetched his shovel and truck to help shovel and tow us out.
But when I turned to greet him I sat down rather suddenly as I found the ice...I could see why the truck wanted to sled.
It was just a simple fall and onto my bottom but my leg decided to end up being sat on and felt just a tad odd...a bit of limping and a safe journey home and that was that.
Except it didn't feel better the next day so this morning I limped off to find out if I'd torn something.... No I hadn't torn a thing ..it was a nice clean break..smack in the middle of the fibula.
So does anyone have any crafting ideas for decorating these ???

On no. You poor thing. I hope you are not too uncomfortable. How long does the hospital think you are going to be hobbling around?
ReplyDeleteAt least you will have plenty of time to craft and read. Oh my!
Oh, what rotten luck. As for decorations, I'd definitely go with a Christmas theme. Plenty of litter and sparkle and a bit of tinsel, don't you think? Take care.
ReplyDeleteOh dear, crutches at Christmas - Tiny Tim does spring to mind, rather! Get better soon.
ReplyDeleteNo weight at all for two weeks...Cheryl... 6 to 8 to mend (but faster I hope) You're right I better think positive.
ReplyDeleteTinsel...Brilliant Liz (I'll take photos..lol)
I think Tiny Tim is just a tad skinnier than I am ..Rachel but providing I don 't park myself by the cake tin perhaps I there may be less of me soon (But I doubt it)
Oh no,The snow looks lovely while your cosy and warm inside.I dread having to actually go anywhere in it.I hope your up and about again soon.
ReplyDeleteYou could opt for camouflage and paint it all white. Although you wouldn't get so much sympathy. Bright red and tinsel might be more festive.
ReplyDeletePoor you! I favour the glitter and tinsel look as you stretch on the sofa with all those books you've been dying to read.
ReplyDeleteForget that this should be the busiest time of year for you and enjoy supervising instead!
White with Tinsel Cheryl ?
ReplyDeleteI'm making pressies Maureen to keep me out of mischief...lol
Madness and Mayhem..Thanks for the Good wishes ..that is a great blog title!!!!
ReplyDeleteOh, no! I suggest pom poms for decorations. Cheryl at Time to Craft makes cute ones. Like the first pic, it's very Narnian, and just in case you don't see it, here's my reply:
ReplyDeleteVal, hahahaha! Hi-larious! I was part speed reading and part tripping down Memory Lane at the mention of whisky. Let me explain...when I was a kid, there was a whisky factory not far from us. The smell would make me gag; whenever we drove by it, I'd lie on the floor of my dad's car until we passed by. But since I'm a big girl now, I'm willing to give the cake a try if you do find the recipe. xo
Ouch! Definitely tinsel. You could always try crocheting some snowflakes too - or perhaps anything snowy is a complete non-starter...
ReplyDeletecould try Snowflakes Colleen or perhaps Bells ...lol
ReplyDeleteI broke my ankle two Christmases ago, an unusual break that required no weight for six whole weeks. I knitted a groovy sock to cover my cast, but I wasn't allowed a walking boot. I chose a black fibreglass cast so it would look like a boot and wore a black sock the only time we went out!!
ReplyDeleteSuch a pain in the whatsit at this time of year.
I don't think any sock I knitted would be finished before the bone mends...lol
ReplyDeleteA broken ankle sounds very ouch
Pain in the whatsit is so true!!!!!
How are you coming along? Any better?
ReplyDeleteOh, that is so scary. Amazing how they do breaks these days. When I was a girl, I broke my femur, and was in the hospital (are you ready?) for three months. In traction half that time. Then crutches, then a cane. Never a cast. And my leg is 1/2 inch shorter. And I've limped since. And the knee on that leg is twice the size of the other. Good thing there is progress in the world, dontcha think? Hope you heal soon, and enjoy people waiting on you!
ReplyDeleteHi Jodi ..I think it's mending..I overused it a bit to start with and then the whole family got a fluey cold...such is life ..still get it over before Christmas is what I say lol
ReplyDeleteWell Nan now I can appreciate just having the crutches and boot...the alternative sounds like it was not much fun :0(
