Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

I missed Christmas....and Christmas Eve.... talk about bad timing for being ill ...two days of blinding headache later ... I emerged...all I can say is my other half was brilliant..the kids had a great time (somewhat unconventional but great) I'd wrapped the pressies early rather than last minute (thank you kind fate) and whoopee I don't have a headache anymore.

Anyway most odd, but now we get to make the gingerbread men,Christmas cookies and Chocolate log this week rather than Christmas eve.

Wishing you all a healthy New Year!

  1. So sorry you were ill over Christmas. What a shame. Glad you're better and a Happy New Year to you too.

  2. Some elements of Christmas are easily postponed, so you get to extend the pleasant bits; sorry to hear you were so poorly though. Best wishes for the coming year!

  4. Good to hear you've recovered. At least you get to prolong the festivities. Enjoy all those homemade goodies.

  5. Poor you, as if the broken leg wasn't enough to cope with! I hope the rest of the holiday festivities will make up for it.

  7. Thank you for all the kind comments!

I have just managed to buy "ice grippers" for my crutches ...so yipee freedom (well ish! lol)

Actually I'm lucky Maureen ..no plaster cast just the walking boot ..which is a base with two side splints attached, a foam liner and lots of velcro straps to keep it snug...new to me but comfy

from an old gravestone

If you hold your nose to the Grindstone
and you leave it there long enough,
Then soon you'll say
there's no such things
as brooks that babble
and birds that sing,
these three will all your world compose,
just you, the stone and your poor old nose.

(from memory so may not be word perfect)
