It reminded me of a school friend working on a similar project while we were at school (long ago now!) and I'd never tried it myself and as I fancied a project that I could work on in small bites, that would stand interruptions and wouldn't tax my woolly brain ...this has proved to be lovely.
THANKS KATH!
I used scrap paper and a ruler to make some equilateral triangles found some cotton and a needle and some scraps and I was off. Took a few minutes puzzling to get the corner fold but then that was fine .
It's great fun and it's growing....
What's it going to end up as ?
Not sure yet!
That looks exactly like the first piece of patchwork I tried. Watch out, it is very addictive and you'll find yourself looking at your daughters' dresses with a glint in your eye!
ReplyDeleteLol
ReplyDeleteHusband's shirts too do you think?
Yes, Val, shirts, tablecloths, sheets - anything that moves!
ReplyDeleteI have something very similar that I do odd bits of then go back to at intervals. It'll get finished one day!!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful, Val. I just saw Jane Campion's Bright Star again, and it definitely made me want to take up some hand sewing.
ReplyDeleteWhatever it turns out to be, it will be a stunner!
ReplyDeleteAll I ever made was quilted bedspreads for doll beds for my children.
