Yarn along..better late than never

Joining Ginny again here for her weekly books and yarn fun! Thanks Ginny :0)

Reading Doreen Tovey's series of books about the comical situations arising from living in the country with two Siamese cats and a small Donkey called Annabel.
Thr girls are loving these and I'm enjoying both the books and their enjoyment of them!
I was introduced to them as a child by a neighbor who moved into the small hamlet where we lived..I still have fond memories of her kindness.

As to Knitting ...I've picked up some nice easy knitting to get me going again, soft blue cotton and I'm knitting small wash cloths...very satisfying and not too demanding (but I'm going to try birds soon Cheryl!)

  1. I've been wondering where I've heard of your books before, so I googled. Turns out she lived in Somerset in a 250 year old cottage, too. I really must read one of her books. I think a blue bird is a perfect idea.

  2. I've heard of the books too, but can't remember why. Possibly my daughters read them when they were younger because I'm pretty sure I have not.

    1. They've been around a while and it's nice to see them appearing as ebooks now Cath :0)

from an old gravestone

If you hold your nose to the Grindstone
and you leave it there long enough,
Then soon you'll say
there's no such things
as brooks that babble
and birds that sing,
these three will all your world compose,
just you, the stone and your poor old nose.

(from memory so may not be word perfect)
