Lord Peter Wimsey

I came across a very inviting post on reading DL Sayers Lord Peter Wimsey stories.

"As My Wimsey Takes Me"

I enjoyed reading J P W's follow on story the Attenbury Emeralds recently and this had redirected me back to DL Sayers originals.

So this challenge seemed rather fun and a chance to share enjoyment of her novels, rather than any sort of challenge at all really! Which is just as well, as usually, whenever the word challenge is bandied about, I fail miserably!!! So we'll just whisper that word 'challenge' very, very, quietly and keep it in it's proper place...lol

and in between daily lifes chores and challenges... I'll try and sneak in some darn good yarns :0)

  1. Hi, Val! Thanks for falling over my blog; it's nice to meet you! I just read Whose Body? (it's the first Lord Peter and one of the ones I hadn't read yet) because of the Attenbury Emeralds and Christina's challenge. And I'm not familiar with Henry Cecil, but now I'm curious. I'm always so happy to find someone else who's going through or has gone through an Angela phase.

from an old gravestone

If you hold your nose to the Grindstone
and you leave it there long enough,
Then soon you'll say
there's no such things
as brooks that babble
and birds that sing,
these three will all your world compose,
just you, the stone and your poor old nose.

(from memory so may not be word perfect)
