  3. Happy New Year! Somehow these cards say it so well. My french friend always sent beautiful New Year cards, like these, instead of a Christmas card.

    1. Thanks Cath, that's so kind of you to ask.... my OH has had to deal with an interesting situation at work that would make quite the story....so I've been a bit distracted to say the least but hopefully it's being fixed at last the poor chap has been so stressed it's crazy! so fingers crossed and then I will sort myself out ...I will have to post on the books I've been listening to. Including a Couple of good ones and a few less so..such is life!

    2. Really sorry to hear that life is so stressful for your husband and thus - you. Do hope it is all soon fixed and life can return to normal. Just missing your posts and wondering if all is well. Look forward to hearing about your books when things are more settled. Take care! xxx

from an old gravestone

If you hold your nose to the Grindstone
and you leave it there long enough,
Then soon you'll say
there's no such things
as brooks that babble
and birds that sing,
these three will all your world compose,
just you, the stone and your poor old nose.

(from memory so may not be word perfect)
