Eight lives left.....

You know that moment (well hopefully you don't) when you've turned the dryer on and the load of wet laundry makes a thumping sound as if a trainer was in there by mistake.
I stared at it for a second ..puzzled ..I surely didn't load anything that would thump...so still puzzled I stopped the dryer and opened the door..and I was very glad I did.

Out shot Tinker ...that was a close call..I normally check before I shut the door..

Anyway thankfully no harm done and she has been especially affectionate since ...so she either thinks I'm dangerous and she needs to keep om my good side or I'm her rescuer?

Anyway much relief that she's Ok ...Much checking every time I load the dryer and I'd say One life definitely
used up!

  2. Oh, that was something I feared should happen as long as Åskar lived, even if I never saw him even close to the washing machineor dryer.
I'm glad to hear about the happy end!

    1. How lovely to hear from you! We were very lucky..it was very frightening ..especially because she didn't call out..I'm so glad I opened the door. Now I will always double check...I don't think she would climb in again but she has a brother who has already fallen in the fish tank (twice..we now have metal mesh covers)Wishing you a Lovely Christmas x

  3. Poor Puss, what a lucky escape! I remember a story of someone's cat who climbed in the washing machine which was then turned on, they stopped it quite quickly, but couldn't open it straight away because of the pause mechanism, so her mum was talking to the cat down the soap chute, telling him they wouldn't be long, don't worry etc!

Thanks for visiting and commenting on my blog; I love Attic24 but rarely comment, as Lucy's commentariat is so huge and she's so stellar and busy, but it's great to make a contact through her blog.

    Are you on Ravelry too?

    1. I love attic 24 but can't actually crochet! I just love the colours... my youngest crochets and my oldest knits both out skill me easily... and we are all on Ravelry I'm ValAlaska

  4. Me too, well, I can crochet a bit, I learned before knitting, but I'm hopeless at it and my simplest projects turn out bottle shaped because I don't count the stitches enough and forget to chain at the end! I just find visiting there always makes me feel a bit more inspired and motivated.

You have some lovely links here; William Morris and Dervla Murphy are both favourites of mine too.

I'll look in on you on Ravelry, I'm Acernegundo (botanical name for box elder tree).

  5. Thank goodness you stopped. Not a problem here, but I used to check when we had cats. Although I am wondering how you accidentally put a trainer in the dryer. Something else to worry about....

from an old gravestone

If you hold your nose to the Grindstone
and you leave it there long enough,
Then soon you'll say
there's no such things
as brooks that babble
and birds that sing,
these three will all your world compose,
just you, the stone and your poor old nose.

(from memory so may not be word perfect)
