The Wireless and some needlework...

Spring is finally arriving and will scream in fast ..we have Winter and Summer here and very, very short Springs and Falls.  The leaves are fast bursting open on the trees , the grass is beginning to green up and I picked my first dandelion greens for the Guinea pigs (appreciated I may add).

I listened to a Desert Island discs programme from 1977 P.L.Travers of Mary Poppins fame was the guest and she chose exclusively spoken word recordings of poetry readings ..it was a most enjoyable listen.
The programme is available to listen online or to download from HERE

Sewing is progressing in fits and starts...when I get five minutes ...but only if my eyes aren't too tired. (Darn it ) but anyway I'm still having fun with my  (typical? slap dash approach!

Now what shall I listen to next?

  1. Love your raven. If this is what you can achieve with slap dash, then I'm all for it.

Nothing to suggest. I'm sewing too and reading blog posts, but I'll probably turn to the radio later.

from an old gravestone

If you hold your nose to the Grindstone
and you leave it there long enough,
Then soon you'll say
there's no such things
as brooks that babble
and birds that sing,
these three will all your world compose,
just you, the stone and your poor old nose.

(from memory so may not be word perfect)
