Otters

A very short glimpse of a Mother and Baby Otter that swam up to check us out. Sorry they are not too close but the Otters control how close they are..they came up to us and checked us out :0)

You can tell we are quite a distance away as Sea otters to my amazement are huge ...up to 5 feet in length!

  1. Wonderful. I think the wildlife is one of the best bits about a holiday. Maybe not the mozzies. Or anything slithering.

    1. Nothing slithery lives here so that's a plus :0)
Mozzies a bit pesky this year but not a major nuisance thank goodness!

    1. They were lovely Cath and different otters kept checking us out on different days.. a better lens for the camera would be handy but it's so nice as they come up to us :0)

  3. Lovely! Otters here are small, elusive, shy creatures, but again, thrilling to catch sight of.

    1. Here they can be elusive but in the more out of the way spots they are quite curious and we are their entertainment :0)

from an old gravestone

If you hold your nose to the Grindstone
and you leave it there long enough,
Then soon you'll say
there's no such things
as brooks that babble
and birds that sing,
these three will all your world compose,
just you, the stone and your poor old nose.

(from memory so may not be word perfect)
