I know this should be three french hen's and instead it's four wrapped up Robins
but if we're not to fussy ...they do look Christmas-y

It's s nice old pack illustrated by Racey Helps
more about him here

It just goes to illustrate that tradional games are still great fun!

  1. Those cars are lovely, and if I were going to come up with a film-star name I'd have to consider Racey Helps. Top name!!

  2. I used to love playing Happy Families as a child and yours look like they are enjoying it too. We have a few Racey Helps children's books ( from the Medici Society I think). I always thought of RH was a woman - now I know better.

from an old gravestone

If you hold your nose to the Grindstone
and you leave it there long enough,
Then soon you'll say
there's no such things
as brooks that babble
and birds that sing,
these three will all your world compose,
just you, the stone and your poor old nose.

(from memory so may not be word perfect)
