On the Wireless and elsewhere- 1-Daphne DuMaurier

Dame Daphne DuMaurier

It is a while since I read any of her books and I am probably overdue for a revisit.
Which one to read first ? I'm not sure . My favourites are probably "Rebecca", "Frenchman's Creek" and "Jamaica Inn"

Rebecca and Frenchman's Creek were produced as Saturday Night Theatre plays on the BBC in 1976 and Jamaica Inn in '75 I believe. Other versions and other stories have been produced by the BBC ..I think some have been produced as Classic serial versions in the '90's

There are the famous film versions but I started out on the books and then next for pleasure is the radio.

What started this train of thought?
this did

from an old gravestone

If you hold your nose to the Grindstone
and you leave it there long enough,
Then soon you'll say
there's no such things
as brooks that babble
and birds that sing,
these three will all your world compose,
just you, the stone and your poor old nose.

(from memory so may not be word perfect)
